Lockyer Valley

Lockyer Valley Volunteer Area Committee

The Lockyer Valley is one of the most fertile agricultural regions on earth and spreads out to either side of the Ipswich-Toowoomba Warrego Highway, encompassing Minden to the east and Withcott to the west, stretching almost as far north as Wivenhoe Dam and as far south as the Mt Mistake National Park and is just 85 kilometres from Brisbane. At only an hour’s drive west of Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley is known as “The region of choice for vibrant rural living”. The main commercial centre is Gatton with the town of Laidley to the east and Withcott at the western boundary with numerous other small towns and localities making up this dynamic region.
