Leave a gift in your Will

Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation, whose work has impacted on the lives of thousands of every day Australians.  Crime Stoppers Queensland provides and promotes a landline toll free hotline, website and mobile app for the receipt of anonymous information about crimes or suspicions of criminal activity.

Crime Stoppers Queensland relies on the generosity of people like you.

After you have provided for your loved ones, please consider leaving a gift in your Will to Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited (ABN 30 010 995 650).  Your gift will make a real difference in our ongoing efforts to solve and prevent crime for current and future generations.

With little or no impact on your life today, a gift in your Will is one of the most simple and empowering ways to be sure that your loved ones and their families will still be afforded the assistance that Crime Stoppers Queensland provides into the future.  We would be delighted if you would consider leaving a gift to Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited in your Will.

Ways to leave a gift in your Will

Your first priority when making a Will is to provide for your loved ones.  Many people find that even though they have done this, they can also leave a gift in their Will to a charity.

There are a number of ways you assist Crime Stoppers in Queensland in your Will, depending on your circumstances:

1  You can leave a share of your estate.  A good way to help is to leave a proportion, or the whole of what is left in your estate after you have provided for your loved ones. This type of gift (known as a residuary bequest) is easy to add to an existing Will without interfering with any specific sums you have left to family or friends. It also has the advantage that it will not be eroded in value by inflation over the years. Just 1, 2, 5% or more of your estate can help make a difference.

2  You can leave a fixed sum of money.  You may wish to leave us a fixed sum of money (known as a pecuniary bequest). Please remember that this type of gift does not allow for changes in your circumstances or inflation.

3  You can leave a specific item of value.  You may wish to leave us a particular item (known as a specific bequest), which can be sold to support our work. It could be property or an item of value such as real estate, art or a piece of jewellery.
