Covid-19

You can report both profiteering and pandemic restriction breaches to Crime Stoppers

Covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed life as we know it here in Queensland and across the world.  The information we’re receiving comes through so quickly that it’s difficult to keep up.

There are two questions some Queenslanders have been asking in relation to the pandemic:

1. Should I report people who should be in self-quarantine but aren’t?

Queensland Health are following up with people who have been instructed to self-quarantine, and will follow up on any reports of non-compliance.  If you suspect someone not complying with the self-quarantine directive, please report to Queensland Health Ph 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).

2. Is it a crime to profiteer from the pandemic?

Yes. Profiteering includes bulk-buying supplies that are currently in high-demand and reselling them at inflated prices.  You can report this activity to Crime Stoppers or phone us on 1800 333 000.

The answer to both may be yes, however who you report to is different for each of these scenarios.
